Quality exams, quality results

If you are a student of Italian as a foreign language, you may be considering taking an Italian language exam to demonstrate your proficiency in the language. There are a number of different Italian language exams available, but the most common are the CILS, CELI, CERT.IT, and PLIDA exams. All of these are issued by certification bodies that form the association Certificazione Lingua Italiana di Qualità (CLIQ) that ensures a quality system for the certification of language skills following the standards set by the Council of Europe in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

CILS (Certificazione di Italiano come Lingua Straniera) is a certification of Italian as a foreign language issued by the University of Siena for Foreigners. The CILS exam is offered at six different levels, from A1 (beginner) to C2 (proficient).

CELI (Certificati di Lingua Italiana) is a certificate of knowledge of the Italian language issued by the University for Foreigners of Perugia. The CELI exam is also offered at six different levels, from A1 to C2.

CERT.IT (Certificazione dell'italiano come lingua straniera) is another certification of Italian as a foreign language. It is issued by Roma Tre University. The CERT.IT exam is also offered at all six different levels from A1 to C2.

PLIDA (Progetto Lingua Italiana Dante Alighieri) is a certification of Italian language proficiency issued by the Dante Alighieri Society. The PLIDA exam is offered at six different levels, from A1 to C2.
